چکیده

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are involved in microbial interspecies communication and the mode of action various antagonistic interactions. They important for balancing host-microbe interactions provide basis developing biological control strategies to plant pathogens. We studied between bacterial antagonist Serratia plymuthica HRO-C48 three fungal pathogens Rhizoctonia solani, Leptosphaeria maculans Verticillium longisporum . Significant differences growth inhibition by -emitted VOCs pairwise dual culture assays changes transcriptome bacterium volatilomes both interacting partners were observed. Even though rate was variable, confrontation with all fungi changed levels expression genes stress response, biofilm formation, production antimicrobial VOCs. Pairwise microorganisms switched defense (downregulation gene expression) attack (upregulation metabolism followed partner) modes, subject combinations that interacting. In significantly inhibited R. solani while simultaneously boosting its own metabolism; contrast, downregulated when went into a induced L. V. slightly reduced one VOC methyl acetate strong downregulation almost metabolic functions S. Similarly, interaction resulted an insignificant reduction fungus repressed on transcriptional level, accompanied intense volatile dialogue. Overall, our results indicate substantially contribute highly break species-specific their natural antagonists thus deserving increased consideration pathogen control.

Reactive oxygen species and plant resistance to fungal pathogens.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) have been studied for their role in plant development as well as in plant immunity. ROS were consistently observed to accumulate in the plant after the perception of pathogens and microbes and over the years, ROS were postulated to be an integral part of the defence response of the plant. In this article we will focus on recent findings about ROS involved in the in...

Silver nanoparticles, a potential alternative to conventional anti-fungal agents to fungal pathogens affecting crop plants

Metallic silver nanoparticles have been reduced from silver nitrate by employing the extracellular enzymatic machinery of edible White button Mushroom (Agaricus bisporus). The physical properties of these particles, size and shapes have been determined using techniques like TEM, FTIR and XRD and were reported in our earlier report. But, what stands of paramount importance in the presen...

Complete genome sequence of the rapeseed plant-growth promoting Serratia plymuthica strain AS9

Serratia plymuthica are plant-associated, plant beneficial species belonging to the family Enterobacteriaceae. The members of the genus Serratia are ubiquitous in nature and their life style varies from endophytic to free-living. S. plymuthica AS9 is of special interest for its ability to inhibit fungal pathogens of rapeseed and to promote plant growth. The genome of S. plymuthica AS9 comprises...

Interactions between Fungal Pathogens and Insect Hosts

Fungal diseases in insects are common and widespread and often decimate insect populations in spectacular epizootics. Virtually all insect orders are susceptible to fungal diseases. Fungi infect insects by breaching the host cuticle; they are the principal pathogens among sucking insects because these hosts cannot ingest other pathogens that infect through the gut wall. Fungi are also particula...
